Th.C. Program Overview

The Adult Learning Certificate in Theology provides students with a structured understanding of core Christian doctrines grounded in Scripture. Through the study of biblical and systematic theology, students explore the nature of God, essential Christian beliefs, and the doctrine of salvation. Emphasis is placed on theological clarity, doctrinal faithfulness, and practical application for ministry and daily life. This certificate equips students to think theologically, articulate their beliefs with precision, and apply sound doctrine in teaching, leadership, and personal spiritual growth.

Undergraduate Certificates

Undergraduate Certificates are intended to be a means for adult learners who do not wish to commit to an entire degree to learn more about various topics for enrichment of their faith journey or to train them for a particular context. By taking one course each term, the certificate can be earned in one year. All students require COLL100 before beginning a certificate program. (The COLL100 requirement can be waived if the student demonstrates proficiency in the CCS Turabian Style Guide, or if they have had a similar course intended to familiarize students with online learning environments. If waived, the student must select an elective as indicated.)  All certificate courses are drawn from the primary BBS2.0 degree.

Course Transfer Considerations

Only courses taken at CCS may be transferred into a certificate program. Courses must be an exact match; no equivalencies are permitted.

About CCS
  • I am absolutely blown away by CCS instructors for their care and support. It is remarkable. I get one on one attention. The professors are supportive and helpful.

  • Stepping into college was fearful for me for the unknowns. I am blown away from the glory of God in just the first week of my studies. God is revealing more of Himself to me. I cannot be more certain that God has led me down this path. I don’t need to go anywhere else for a master’s program.

  • I tell everyone I know about CCS. It is great. The classes are great. The professors are great. I am learning a lot.

  • The classes at CCS get me to think through things deeply. The additional study needed for my classes is improving my mind and my ability to analyze. I am having a great time learning.

  • I loved taking the Biblical Counseling course last semester. All-in-all, that was one of my favorite courses that I have taken.

  • One of my favorite parts about CCS is the community. I am always excited to come to class because everyone is so friendly and I know my presence is appreciated.

  • I wanted to have a good foundation for anything my husband is called to in ministry. CCS is really helping me think deeply about ministry and the Bible; it’s not just about what I think, it’s about what is true to the Bible.

  • “I went from going nowhere at community college, to having a purpose in pursuing a degree that can give me a career and it integrates the Bible too. I cannot believe it! Plus with the GFM scholarship, it is free!”

  • I learned so much about the basics of what my faith rests upon. I love the classes. Professors are always happy to answer any quesiton in such a thorough manner and they really inspire discussion among everybody.

  • Come visit Cornerstone! The campus is cozy and there is lots to do in the area.

  • “I love CCS! I feel like I am a part of a family campus community that loves me and cares about my future.”

  • Professor Jay quickly became a favorite professor of mine for his similar sense of humor compared to mine, but also his love for helping others in cultivating their own sound theology.

  • If you want to be around like-minded Christians that you can discuss Christianity with and your day-to-day, CCS is definitely the right choice.

  • At Cornerstone, I am able to take courses at cheaper tuition rates than other colleges. Plus, the professors are very friendly and every class feels personal.
