At Cornerstone, I am able to take courses at cheaper tuition rates than other colleges. Plus, the professors are very friendly and every class feels personal.

Daniel Gowaty CCS Student

I loved taking the Biblical Counseling course last semester. All-in-all, that was one of my favorite courses that I have taken.

Caedryn McKenna CCS Student

Professor Jay quickly became a favorite professor of mine for his similar sense of humor compared to mine, but also his love for helping others in cultivating their own sound theology.

Daniel Milam CCS Student

One of my favorite parts about CCS is the community. I am always excited to come to class because everyone is so friendly and I know my presence is appreciated.

What is the Fredericksburg area like?

The Fredericksburg area, which includes the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Spotsylvania and Stafford, is a classic blend of modern life and small-town charm. Conveniently located along I-95, between Washington and Richmond, the area features various chef-owned restaurants, numerous art galleries, a wide range of specialty shops, and one of America’s most authentic, historic downtowns. Stafford is home to George Washington’s boyhood home, Ferry Farm and Belmont, and the residence of 20th Century American impressionist painter Gari Melchers. Spotsylvania is not only 4,400 acres of Civil War battlefields; it also boasts the beautiful Lake Anna Winery. The Fredericksburg Area rests on the banks of the picturesque, pristine Rappahannock River. For visitor information and online trip planning, visit www.VisitFred.com.

Historial and Picturesque Setting

Fredericksburg

An ideal spot for a historic vacation, Fredericksburg sits on the Rappahannock River's rolling falls. For the indigenous people of Virginia, the falls were a favorite fishing and hunting ground. To the early settlers, the fall line was the Colony's first frontier. For generations to follow, the river brought both prosperity and historic conflict.

Spotsylvania

Close to D.C. but far from the demands of modern life, picturesque Spotsylvania offers an escape to outdoor activities and rich history. This vast new county was formed in the young colony of Virginia in 1721. Extending far beyond the Blue Ridge Mountains, this frontier outpost was named after Alexander Spotswood, Colonial Governor of Virginia.

Stafford

Traveling through History in Stafford County may lead to many surprising and impressive discoveries. From the fossilized remains of prehistoric animals along the shores of the Rappahannock and Potomac rivers, to the modern Marine Corps Heritage Center, Stafford's rich history spans every era.
