Hear from our students

At Cornerstone, I am able to take courses at cheaper tuition rates than other colleges. Plus, the professors are very friendly and every class feels personal.

I loved taking the Biblical Counseling course last semester. All-in-all, that was one of my favorite courses that I have taken.

Caedryn McKenna CCS Student

Professor Jay quickly became a favorite professor of mine for his similar sense of humor compared to mine, but also his love for helping others in cultivating their own sound theology.

One of my favorite parts about CCS is the community. I am always excited to come to class because everyone is so friendly and I know my presence is appreciated.

First, the Bad News… Then, There’s Good News

Contents

We live in a world where there is a lot of bad news. Whether you see the news on YouTube, the internet, or TV, there is a lot of bad news about international affairs, the environment, and even the weather. What is the next bad news coming down the turnpike? And why is there so much bad news? What causes this? Where do we find answers to life’s pressing issues? Will answers be found in the next environmental leader, the president, inside of us? In the midst of this, there is Good News! There are answers to all of these issues, and the answers are found from a source apart from ourselves that can be trusted implicitly.

First, the Bad News…

At the beginning of time, God made the cosmos – all that we can see and not see. He created humankind after His own image, and after He was done, He said it was good. God’s relationship with humankind was good and perfect. However, God gave Adam and Eve a choice to choose to obey. Unfortunately, they decided to not obey, and as a result, their relationship with God was broken, and sin entered the world. Since then, sin has tainted everything in the world; consequently, we have hurt, sorrow, loss, troubles, and death. That is the bad news…but there is good news!

But Don’t Worry, There’s Good News

God did not leave us to bear these burdens alone. The Good News is the GOSPEL of Jesus Christ:

G – God created us to have a relationship with Him.

O – Our sins separate us from having a personal relationship with God.

S – Sin cannot be taken away by good works.

P – Paying the price for our sin, the Lord Jesus Christ, came to Earth, died in our place for the penalty of sin, and God raised Him from the dead – defeating death and the grave.

E – Everyone who trusts in Jesus as Lord and Savior will be saved from the penalty of their sin.

L – Life with Jesus begins now and lasts forever.
